Deterring Burglary

In today's world, home protection is a must, and simply owning a dog or a firearm isn't always the best option. Over 70% of burglaries are committed by an acquaintance of the family.* That means they would probably know your dog's name and where you hide your guns.

One of the most effective theft deterrent devices in America today is the ADT logo. The small blue yard sign and window decals will stop many criminals in their tracks. In fact, when asked, 9 out of 10 convicted burglars agreed that they would avoid a house protected by an alarm system.**

Security Services, Inc., in cooperation with ADT offers special savings for AARP members.

AARP is committed to the well-being of its members and families. That's why they have formed a relationship with ADT, the number one name in monitored home security.

A Great Deal of Security.

ADT Monitored Home Security Systems can help protect your home and family. Now, AARP members can receive special prices on system installations and monitoring by ADT.

  • AARP members qualify for a 10% savings on the installation of a Home Security System by Security Services, Inc.
  • AARP members also receive an additional $1 discount off monthly monitoring.

Home Security Safety Tips

  • Don't enter your home if you see signs of forced entry. Go to a neighbor's house, call the police and note the description of any strange cars or people near your home.
  • Never confront an intruder. Panic can sometimes turn a burglary int a more dangerous crime.
  • If a stranger wants to use your phone, don't let them inside. If they say they have an emergency such as their car breaking down, take down the details with your security door closed and make the call for them.
  • Never tell a stranger you are home alone.
  • All representatives of legitimate companies have ID cards. If you're even a little bit unsure about a person at your door, write down their ID or badge number before calling their company for verification.
  • If you get a harassing phone call, say nothing and hang up the phone immediately. If you keep getting them, call the police and your telephone company. Also consider installing an answering machine or caller ID unit so that you can screen your calls before answering.
